I’ve heard from Catholic circles that it is a thing that reactionaries join the church hoping to become part of a trad anti-woke community, only to be very disappointed once they find out why the people in the congregation are actually there.
Sort of reminds me of the disconnect between some Westerners who get really into Zen Buddhism or whatever vs. Buddhism as its generally practiced in Asia
