Directors also often have to do things the way people expect them to look because other movies convinced them this is how it was. And of course many times they just focus on telling the story they want to tell, not making is as accurate as possible.
And I’m sure sometimes people are just stupid and lazy. I like to think most of the time movies are inaccurate because of the other reasons but of course I don’t know for sure.
