    A bunch of medieval theology is basically this. Using all pronouns for god, talking about god as both the father and the mother. Depicting Jesus (who is god in mortal form) as being both male and female. The wound on his side as a vagina. Julian of Norwich equated Jesus’ ability to feed the masses with lactation etc.

    They backed off on that going into the early modern period (and protestants didn’t really do that stuff either etc)

      Damn. If they still did that, maybe I could have blamed my fluidity on divine forces and been considered some sort of religious icon. Instead of having Catholics in power over children torture me for nonconformity for over a decade and make it take me many years longer than it should have to figure out what was going on.
