    They have no principles.

Most people these days don’t. Rightoids were celebrating the capitol getting stormed, meanwhile Leftoids were fucking celebrating someone getting S H O T. In my tiny, peaceful world view, both of these events should NOT be celebrated. And if, idk, AOC get’s shot, Rightoids would probably celebrate it. It’s just a “bad things are actually good if they happen to the ‘right’ people”.

The political discourse is completely off the rails, people are unhinged beyond imagination. The insane shit I said 15 years ago on /pol/ to troll around with other degenerates, stuff that was considered edgy and therefore funny, has now turned into a legitimate opinion for some people that is said without any irony. Recently I read someone on here unironically saying: “Hitler was kinda right”.

It’s pretty sad. The political fronts are getting harder and harder until people from the right can’t reach the left anymore and people from the left can’t reach the right - and at that point, you’re probably not very far away from a straightup war.

I just hope you keep that shit in america, but I can feel the impact in europe aswell, albeit not as bad as you have it over there.

  • Honestly I feel like you COULD make some graphs - after all, much of the data is public, like how many posts, how many comments, which communites you’ve been part of, probably even with who’m you interacted most etc.

But then again, that’s a lot of effort for a community-ran project. But I honestly think it could be fun for next year. Maybe I’ll whip something up.

  • puts the burden on individuals to do invest an inordinate amount of time and research for typically minimal returns

I really don’t like that statement at all. Individuals SHOULD think about what and from whom they buy. And let’s please not pretend this is something you have to invest hours of your day into - nestle products are very clearly branded, windows is very clearly branded etc. I’m not mad at people for not being able to identify every single sub-company of nestle, coca-cola etc.

Voting with your wallet also shames those who don’t have the financial resources to feasibly pay for “more ethical” things, which are typically also more expensive.

In some cases, absolutely. But let’s not pretend like nestle branded products are always cheaper than the store-brand alternative. And if we’re talking about iPhones, well, I don’t think we have to talk a lot about those.

or example, boycotting, meaning organized movements with specific demands, does move the needle

That IS voting with your wallet, but on a larger, more organized scale. However, if people were more conscious about their purchases, individual boycotts would be similarly effective.

Dying Light 1 is the best one anyways - DL2 was a big step down and DL:TB was fine, but wasn’t able to really “connect” to DL1 either. DL1 just had everything - great combat, great parcour, creepy nights with an actual INCENTIVE to go out (to kill bolters) - I honestly don’t know why they are unable to replicate that success.

To answer the question - Rimworld and Project Zomboid. As always.

The thing is, there are other smartphones out there. You don’t have to go with the big heartless corporation. There are phones like fairphones (https://shop.fairphone.com/) or Shiftphones (https://www.shift.eco/en/). So let’s please not pretend you can only choose between the immoral behemoths when it comes to smartphones - or most other sectors, to be honest.

And I should probably add - you CAN still buy a refurbished google phone, for example - infact, I would consider a refurbed google pixel with graphene OS on it the best option for people that want privacy and want to act morally correct.
