Same thing happened a bunch of times in his previous admin. Democrats controlled Congress during COVID, so they passed a bill that included the stimulus checks, child tax credit and PPP. Trump made sure his name was on the checks (I mean, he could’ve not signed the bill, so in that sense he was right to take credit, but the point is, Democrats didn’t talk about it enough, and even worse, failed to renew the child tax credit when they were in power).
