Also don’t fuck with people who strongly resemble your daughter

Why? Combustion engines are a dead end. European car companies ignored this and kept focusing on ICEs. Now they’re falling behind on EVs, and the solution is… to focus more on ICEs?
At best this will buy the car industry a couple additional years, but doing so will make the crash afterwards even worse.

As someone who can barely remember the original games I could have been fine with a weaker and scared portrayal, especially towards the beginning of her career - but the tonal dissonance between that & her routinely slaughtering dozens of goons without showing any remorse destroyed the immersion. The whiplash between the two extremes was just too much.

Now THIS is pod racing!
The comic reminds me a lot of the last Hitchhikers Guide book by Adams!
Used to top, now I bottom
You’re missing my point.
When the miner craze started, the top-line model prices shot up, and they never came back down. All the other prices increased as well.
In a few generations, prices doubled.
Are you talking about 30cm traffic cones? Unfortunately I don’t ever see them used since they’re not allowed for any real work. The smallest I can try are 50cm, but that’s pretty big already.
So the medical personnel asks about the period, writes it down, and then completely ignores the answer for the rest of the examination? They just do X-Rays even if a patient says “I haven’t had my period in 3 months”?
Of course, everyone knows a doctor won’t even consider talking to you unless you carry a negative pregnancy test.
Wait, why do they even ask about the period? Are they stupid, why isn’t the negative pregnancy test enough?
How so? I’m really trying to empathize, but I can’t understand how the potential harm for “the actual person having an actual medical emergency” is bigger if they’re asked this question.
I can see very tiny negatives (annoying question etc.). But none of them compare to the potential positives for both the person with a medical emergency, and any potential fetus involved. Say for example someone has gotten pregnant without knowing, but would like to keep the pregnancy - they might feel guilty for the rest of their lives if their medical visit causes harm to their pregnancy.
Okay, and what does the medical personnel do with that information? Do they track it in a secret global period database? Do they get together once a month to laugh about irregular periods?
Just like GPU prices! As soon as those miners stop buying all the GPUs, the top-line models will come back down.
Oh wait.
That’s kinda what I pictured. I’ll have to try them one day!

Here you go, I added a bison for scale:

I don’t think there’s a single valid point in that comment

Seems really cool, thanks for the tip!
I feel like the 24th/25th thing is an interesting generational divide. Millennials & below that I’ve talked to usually refer to the 24th as Christmas, whereas older people usually refer to the 25th.
