If the US agreed to everything, then they might convince Iran to do most of their oil sales in dollars for a little while, as that’d be the currency Iran would receive their reparations in.

At times we arm any of these groups to fight whoever we want. Now ISIS has outlived their usefulness and we’re trying to get rid of them by using our chosen winner, who we’ve legitimized by declaring them as the true government of Syria.

Remember that Syria doesn’t have a government. It’s currently run by multiple factions who are being played off each other and fighting each other. There has been no election to decide leadership and if the current declared leadership fails to protect US/Israeli interests they’ll be killed, and then replaced with the next guy.

Moving production abroad is difficult considering the supply chains China has meticulously built over the past 3 decades. There are some metal ores for which the Chinese are the sole processors. As far as I can tell, thought scientists stay losing, because pretending your thoughts comprise a form of science that ends in a measurable result is sophistry.

Iran is the lesser evil in this war. They’re a democratic society that refuses to engage in genocide. By comparison the US is a democracy currently aiding Israel in genocide.
