  • I used to play this all the time. So did my parents. And grandparents. It’s been a favourite of our family’s among the generations probably since the 80s. I’m pretty sure someone in my family has that exact box, I’m not sure who though. But I’ve definitely seen it before.

  • I’ve got a pair of Blundstones, they’re great. I’ve had them for about six years now. They’re a bit scuffed but otherwise in perfect condition. They’ve shaped to my foot and are super comfortable. I’ve got another pair of Chelseas too from a brand I don’t remember, not a big name or anything but they are real leather, they’re also great too. If there wasn’t so much damn snow where I live I’d probably wear Chelseas all the time in the fall-spring. In the summer I wear Vessis (waterproof running shoes, company is Canadian which is why I bought them), they’re my absolute favourite footwear, but they’re obviously not appropriate for Canadian winters. My main winter boots are Sorels (also a Canadian company) and they’re the best winters I’ve ever had. The company has gone downhill a bit but they’re still good.

  • I loved Black Mesa when I played it. I never played the original believe it or not, and it was a great first experience.

Yeah I’m with you on that, I don’t have hardly any time these days for games. I’ve got a baby at home, and I’m up for a promotion to a management position so I’m extra busy at work right now trying to impress the bosses, which unfortunately means later shifts most of the time. That probably won’t go away much if I get the manager job, which is the one aspect I’m not looking forward to. Oh well.

  • Absolutely. I also loved infection on that one map that’s in the same world as the forge map, it’s like a floating level over water. Can’t remember the name now, it’s been years. Then there’s also a good one that’s all indoors, sort of a fancy human building, maybe corporate or hotel originally, I can’t remember now.

Then Alexandria was awesome, there was a super cheesy spot you could get to there. Oh and then there was an outdoors map with sort of a circular building in the middle of the map, that was great for infection too. Oh and then another indoor one, all grey walls, small outdoor area where you could fall to your death.

Now that I think of it, I think I just loved that game altogether. Damn now I’m nostalgic.

  • I had my first less than three months ago. I got lucky in that mine sleeps through the night, I’ve heard that’s rare. If your baby is good at staying asleep, make lots of noise while they’re napping to get them used to it. It’ll help later in life (they’re less likely to be light sleepers that way). Vacuum, do dishes, listen to music, whatever. Every baby’s different though, if they keep waking up and staying awake, switch things up. Routines can be important too when they’re a bit older. Don’t worry too much about it at first, but around 4 months I’ve heard a baby will start to get into a routine, so keep that in mind. I’m not quite there yet so I can’t comment too much, that’s just something I’ve heard a ton from other parents.

My biggest thing is don’t stress too much. Things will come when they come, you’ll figure it out. There’s a good chance one or both of you will have parental instincts, trust them. If neither have them, that’s okay too. Just do your best. There’s no right or wrong answer. When they’re a bit older, I’ve heard positive reinforcement tends to be more effective and also far better for their mental health than discipline, albeit slower to start. I’m not there yet but that’s what I’m planning on doing. At the end of the day though, don’t beat yourself up if you aren’t a perfect parent. Do your best by your kid and they’ll turn out just fine. Just give them lots of love, always.

Also obviously don’t abuse them or something but that shouldn’t be necessary to say.
