Caffe Aronne owner Aaron Dahan said he was left short-staffed at his Upper East Side location after he tried to talk to two of the baristas about their Free Palestine pins.

But instead of hearing him out and understanding him, they walked off the job — becoming the latest staffers to leave over the cafe’s pro-Israel support.

    Top-tier journalism, right there.

Zionist coffee shop owner tells staff “You aren’t allowed to express your political beliefs while on shift, only I get to do that. You don’t like it? You can walk.

    *staff walk*

    *shocked pikachu face*

Why weren’t they interested in hearing me out and understanding me? I’m the victim here!

25 and an “owner” of a coffee shop in NYC? How the hell does this happen? I smell nepo brat.

    Based Barista based-department

Let the genocidal fanatics “volunteer” and try to get any future employees to sign a loyalty pledge to a genocidal aparthied state as a condition for employment. See how long / far that goes.

They think we’re supporting genocide, we’re supporting colonialism. They know the keywords but they don’t really know what they mean.

A shame that you didn’t take this opportunity to describe what genocide and colonialism are. It would have provided important context for me, a young person who apparently doesn’t know what it means.

I love this bullshit. The youth never know what’s happening. It’s all too complex for them. They’ll understand that they were wrong when they are older. It’s very nuanced. blah blah blah blah. It’s utter bullshit.

Even fucking capitalists don’t see that as they keep hoarding the wealth, they’ll just keep creating more left-curious people (probably the only way to build collation). But they’re probably relying heavily on the fact that the average American can’t even read at a 5th grade level or the fact that poor people have a lower life expectancy

Fuck if I know honestly it’s hell at the end of the day

That’s really the appeal of conservatism that draws these people in. Its the ‘responsible’ choice. They get how household finances work. You can’t just spend. Can’t be some kind of tax and spend liberal.

              Its a false conscience.

It’s this condescending, paternalistic attitude that I think is losing the progressives the younger demographic in regards to votes.

The conservatives treat young voters as cool and powerful and important and savvy.

The progressives treat young voters as idealistic and misguided and impetuous and as supplicants. (Feinstein, may she rot in piss, displays this attitude perfectly here when talking to young people about climate change.)

Yet, for some unknown reason, progressives can’t seem to understand how you have these model apostate ex-progressive young people who talk about how “the left” is all groupthink and enforced conformity and how you’ll get cast out for saying the wrong thing so that’s why they switched to being a conservative.

Gee, I wonder why young adults are abandoning your movement when you treat them like naughty children who need to be disciplined whenever they overstep their “boundaries” or they express the wrong opinion instead of treating them as equals and as fully-fledged adults with all the respect that entails?

        Let’s talk about it laterrrr

This just isn’t true? Young people overwhelmingly support the dems.

The “model apostate ex-progressive young people” are all just grifters like Candace Owens. Also I don’t know anyone who’d call the dem establishment “progressive”. That label really only applies to Bernie, “the squad”, and a handful of others like Fetterman.

Do you think conservatives are winning over young adults? Because they definitely aren’t, zoomers aren’t becoming more right-wing by any means. A lot of young people are obviously becoming disillusioned with the liberal status quo and abandoning Dems, but the majority of those become leftist types.

“You’ll become more conservative as you get older” is the biggest bullshit. The large majority of gen x and boomers are lifelong conservatives if you applied today’s standards. You were progressive in the 80’s if you thought gay people dying of AIDs was maybe sort of a bad thing. Most people’s core values either stay consistent or evolve more progressive over time

Even if you look at voteing patterns, major differences between party preference and age didn’t really become a rule until more recently; 18-24 year old boomers reelected Reagan harder than most generations (at over 60%), and 18-24 year younger gen xers in 2000 were 50/50 split in a 50/50 split election

That’s why they keep doing it

It’s the same reason why libs get so mad when you call them racist

They’ve internalized that they are good and good people aren’t racist, so calling someone racist is tantamount to calling them bad and they’re not bad

To bandy about claims of antisemitism while ignoring blatant examples of it proves they don’t understand what they’re saying

To be fair though, I think Zionists project the idea of being in conflict with muslims because they realize muslims scare many Westerners, otherwise I think they just hate Arabs in general. They’re not any kinder to Christian Palestinians either, and both Syria and Lebanon have high Christian populations.

when i visited around 2004 (birthright trip), i was quite shocked to hear them talk about arabs the way hungarians talk about the romani.

that 10 day tour of israel was the beginning of my disillusionment with the entire fucking mess.

and then towards the end they tried to convince us to move there and join the IDF… yea right.

Israel was founded as a secular colonial project, most religious Jews at the time thought that taking back their ancestral land by force was basically sacrilege, and many who didn’t move there still think this way. Herzl basically imagined Israel as this secular “beacon” of enlightened European values among the “savage” and superstitious Arabs. Zionists sometimes will use the Hebrew Bible to justify their genocide, but they don’t actually give a shit about religion, you don’t have to follow Judaism to move there, only be ethnically Jewish (and European, they don’t like non white Jews either), they mostly say shit like that because evangelicals keep falling for it.

“It’s nice. It’s really reassuring because for a lot of Jews right now, New York feels like a very dangerous, very, very dangerous place. This shows there’s support. There’s love still in the world,” Dahan said.

With the amount of verys you’d think NYC is Gaza.

“We’re just gonna all get together. We’re not burning any flag. We’re not gonna curse people. We’re not gonna scream for people’s deaths. That’s not who we are as Jewish people. We’re here for peace,” Dahan said.

Fucking gross. Literally “our ethnicity is more civilized than others.”
