I really welcome spreading the word and mentioning Lemmy over there. But I don’t think a sole backup community is what we want. We have lots if them on lemmit.online and zerobytes.monster. But nobody likes Redsit content just being dumped here with zero engagement. We need active discussions, original posts and some person on the other side to talk to. Not more bots on the platform. So I’d always advocate for creating alternative communities, filling them with people and skipping the bot part…
I feel the same. I guess it’s just nice that this person is bringing awareness about Lemmy.
Yes. I rarely see that these days. I mean I haven’t been active on Reddit for a long time, so I wouldn’t know. But I can’t remember any coordinated efforts of entire communities since the Spez API thing. The Fediverse is ready to welcome them, once they decide to switch. But I guess even if it doesn’t happen for communities as a whole, we still reach some individuals with these advertisements.
Will link my guide to the thread, thanks for sharing
lmao, my account got flagged as spam because of the messages i sent to the modmail 😭
That’s sad, you deserve better!
Thanks :) it’s fine, i only ever liked usdefaultism (no grudge against americans, just like it) and tankiejerk. For the latter i’m the new mod for it and i’m trying to rebuild it, so, happy days i guess
Shit
I’m a martyr now 😔 Guess others’ll have to link the guide for me
That user seems quite active, you can probably check their profile and chime in on a few threads
Uh, check my other comment 😅
