Just to say, the “DiRT” games and the “DiRT: Rally” games are completely different things

An internet connection is very much necessary for the online rallies

Also, DR2 is widely regarded as one of the best driving games ever, not something that could be said about any of the “DiRT” games!

What if I don’t care about online rallies? I just enjoy a good singleplayer campaign. Rally 1.0 doesn’t require a constant connection.

Also, these days I want games I can play on my Steam deck so I’m not tied to my desk. Reports say DR2 runs pretty well. But am I going to lose hours of progress because I had to temporarily put my battery-powered device into sleep mode? Reviews say it can happen pretty easily even on a normal PC.

Course language warning, but this review sums up the experience I don’t want and why I’m avoiding the game. Commenters confirm it’s remained accurate.

    Does this require EA launcher?

And considering the guesses that delisting is imminent, can you play this completely offline?

I haven’t played the game for a while, but I don’t believe so.

can you play this completely offline?

Career mode can’t be played offline, which is dumb. The other single player modes can be played offline. If delisting is actually happening, hopefully they rectify that (but I wouldn’t hold my breath).

EDIT: Delisting doesn’t necessarily mean the online mode will be removed either, just that the game won’t be sold anymore. But with EA, who knows.
