I asked my SIL (a nurse) and she said that the green (and red) one is NyQuil and orange for DayQuil.
The difference between the colors are flavors. Green is supposed to be minty-licorice; it reminds me of Jägermeister. The red one is cherry flavored. It also helps to differentiate between Day and Night medicine.
I’ve been taking green DayQuil for a cold, and now I find out there’s also red NyQuil? What the hell is going on at the Vicks branding department?
The NyQuil has doxylamine succinate (an antihistamine with sedative properties) that helps you sleep at night.
I also just found out about Zquil which is a sleep aid! “Maybe a better ingredient for pie” says my SIL jokingly.
All jokes aside, I hope you feel better soon! 🫶🏼
Definitely don’t want to overdose on this stuff because of the NSAIDs that are also in it though
DayQuil to me is usually orange. It comes in green too?
